Facilitating carbon reduction projects along the northern coastline of Australia.

Our purpose:

Achieving net-zero emissions is a crucial step towards mitigating climate change. One promising strategy for achieving this goal is through the sequestration and storage of carbon in coastal ecosystems, known as blue carbon. In northern Australia, there is significant potential for blue carbon to be used as a tool for reducing emissions. Coastal wetlands, seagrass meadows, and mangrove forests are all highly effective at capturing carbon from the atmosphere and storing it in their soils for centuries. By restoring and conserving these ecosystems, we can not only reduce our carbon footprint but also support biodiverse habitats and promote the resilience of local communities to climate change impacts. The combination of blue carbon and various other mitigation measures can help us meet our ambitious goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

Drives our three goals:

ENVIRONMENTAL

To strengthen the resilience of coastal environments to endure the extreme climatic forces that are coming with Global Warming. Such as rising sea levels and storm surges.

ECONOMIC

To unlock genuine eco-investment opportunities for regional communities, especially coastal Indigenous estates, and decoupling reliance on government funding by generating valuable carbon credits.

EDUCATIONAL

To promote blue carbon sequestration as a real and actionable climate change mitigation strategy, and the central role First Nations management practices have in developing and maintaining these projects, to strengthen Indigenous IP.
